Claudia Madrazo

“For me, art is a discipline that activates and refines consciousness to shape internal and external realities with ethical and aesthetic forms. Active consciousness is the ability to observe, direct and transform thoughts, emotions and behaviors to manifest new possibilities ”, Claudia Madrazo.

Claudia Madrazo grew up in a family of educators and from a young age, she has been interested in learning and exploring the world. Her need to inquire and discover led her to art and its potential as a path to transformation. She holds a Bachelor of Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana, and a Master of Science in Museology from the University of Essex in the UK.

In 1992, she founded the educational and cultural innovation organization La Vaca Independiente. This organization is committed to the promotion and conservation of nature, cultural heritage, and human and social development. She is the founder of several organizations and initiatives in these fields: Fundación, Transformación, Arte y Educación (Transformation, Art and Education), and BAKTÚN Pueblo Maya. She is founding member of the Academy for Systemic Change. . Claudia is author of nine books, as well as several essays and articles.

The name of La Vaca Independiente comes from the artwork painted by the Mexican cartoonist Abel Quezada.
